GARDAÍ HAVE MADE a substantial drugs seizure in west Dublin today, with an estimated street value of half a million euro.
The seizure was made following the stop and search of a vehicle in Ballyfermot and a follow-up search of a premises in the Dublin 20 area. Quantities of cocaine were discovered both in the vehicle and at the Dublin 20 premises.
Two men, aged 34 and 55 years, were arrested and are currently detained at Ballyfermot Garda Station.
The intelligence-led operation into organised crime in the area was carried out by gardaí from the Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau.
Gardaí said drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities.
