GARDAÍ IN CORK have arrested a 50-year-old woman at a bingo hall for allegedly attempting to deal cocaine there.
After a search in the car park beside the Rock Bingo centre in Togher, Cork city on Wednesday evening, Helen Heaphy, from 59 Kerryhall Road in Fairhill, was found to be in possession of a quantity of the drug, and arrested on the scene by Garda Danielle Hegarty.
She appeared at Cork District Court yesterday and was charged with unlawful possession of cocaine, as well as possession with intent to supply, judicial sources told TheJournal.ie.
The accused was remanded on bail until 3 September, on condition that she not enter the Rock Bingo hall at Deanrock Business and Technology Park, that she reside at her home address, and that she sign on with Gardaí every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
According to the Irish Examiner, Heaphy’s solicitor, Diane Hallahan applied for legal aid on her behalf, telling the court that her client was currently unemployed.
