Man dead in Cork after 'altercation' on street in Mallow

It is understood that the man may have been stabbed.

A MAN IN his 20s has died after what gardaí described as an altercation this evening in Cork.

The incident occurred at around 8.30pm on Bridge Street in Mallow.

It is understood that the man may have been stabbed. The man was taken to Cork University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The scene is currently being preserved for technical examination.

Gardaí have appealed for any witnesses to contact Mallow Garda Station on 022 31450, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
