Driver dies after SUV crashes into a wall in Mayo
The man was the sole occupant of the car.
A MAN IN his 70s has died after the SUV he was driving crashed into a wall in Mayo yesterday evening.
The crash happened at about 6.45 pm on the N5 at Ballinvoher near Swinford.
Gardaí have said that the car the man was driving left the road and struck a wall.
The man was the sole occupant of the car and he was pronounced dead at the scene before his body was removed to University Hospital Mayo.
The site of the crash and the vehicle involved have both been examined by garda investigators and gardaí are also urging any witnesses to the crash to contact them.
