Cyclist in critical condition after Mayo crash

The 56-year-old man was airlifted to hospital.

A MAN IN his 50s is in a critical condition in hospital after he suffered serious injuries in a crash in Ballina, Mayo yesterday afternoon.

The man (56) was cycling on the R134 at Rathroeen when he was struck by a car after 4.30pm on Sunday.

A decision was made by paramedics that he should be airlifted to Mayo General Hospital.

He remains in a critical condition.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact them.
