THIS MORNING, GARDAÍ in Cavan caught a motorist speeding at 148kph in a 100kph stretch of the N3 motorway.
Three fixed charge penalty notices were served in the area in all this morning, with the 148kph driver the highest speed recorded out of the three.
Gardaí noted that conditions this morning were foggy, meaning reduced visibility on the roads and urged all drivers to “respect speed limits”.
In a separate incident this morning, gardaí in Naas arrested someone for dangerous driving, who was clocked in at 185kph.
The driver’s car was impounded for no tax or insurance and the person was subsequently disqualified for ten years.
