Gardaí upgrade Cork death to murder investigation

A 23-year-old man remains in custody following the discovery of a man’s body in Passage West last night.

GARDAÍ IN CORK have classed the death of a young man found in Passage West last night as murder.

The body of the 24-year-old was found by gardaí on a routine patrol in the area shortly before midnight last night. He appeared to have been stabbed.

A 23-year-old man remains in custody in Togher Garda Station, under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to contact them in Togher on 021 494 7120, the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111, or any garda station.
