Tá sé ar ais: Hector will be back at the helm of a national breakfast show next week

Hector’s here again. For a few weeks at least.

GOOD NEWS FOR the “soldiers of the dawn”.

Today FM have confirmed this afternoon that Hector Ó h’Eochagáin, who was axed from the RTÉ 2 FM breakfast show back in 2013, will be presenting its morning slot for the next two weeks.

The popular host will be filling in for Ian Dempsey, who’s off on his holidays.

“My early morning alarm is being set once again, the porridge will be consumed and the kettle will be boiled,” Hector said.

I can’t wait to get back again into the cars, the kitchens & the workplaces of the country.

Ó h’Eochagáin dropped a hint earlier this year that he was planning a return to the airwaves – saying all would be revealed very soon.

He hosted a 7-9am breakfast show on 2FM from 2010-2013, before being axed by the station.

The Irish langauge speaker has also presented a number of TV programmes for RTÉ and TG4 – and has previously filled in for Anton Savage at Today FM.
