Updated 19.40pm

A THIEF ROBBED a dying 82-year-old woman moments after she was hit by a lorry.

Sky News reports that thief took the elderly woman’s purse while she lay on the street after the lorry struck her in Leigh, Manchester.

The family of the woman, Irene Ditcher, have urged the robber to give themselves up.

In a statement the relatives of the pensioner said they are “absolutely disgusted” by what happened.

We cannot believe someone has done this to our aunty.
Had Auntie Irene been alive she would have given them the money if they’d asked. We just hope their conscience gets the better of them and they hand themselves in to the police.

The Telegraph newspaper reports that Detective Sergeant Neil Lawless who is investigating the crime, said:

“This is one of the most disgusting crimes I have ever investigated and I find it hard to believe someone could stoop so low to commit such a horrific offence.”
