GARDAÍ IN KERRY are investigating after a female cyclists in her 40s was knocked off her bike by a tractor and killed this evening.
The incident happened at the Killarney bypass on the N22 Cork to Tralee road at around 7pm this evening.
Gardai said the woman was in a collision with a tractor which was towing agricultural equipment. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor was uninjured.
A spokesman said: “The road is closed to traffic and local diversions are in place while garda forensic collision investigators examine the scene. The local coroner has been notified.
“Investigating gardaí are appealing for witnesses. Anyone with information is asked to contact Killarney garda station 064-667 1160, the garda confidential line 1800 666 111 or any garda station.”
