THE M11 SOUTHBOUND has reopened after it had been closed due to an overturned lorry. No injuries have been reported.
There had been long delays on the M11 southbound in Co Wicklow this evening the incident earlier today.
Gardaí attended the scene of the road traffic incident where an overturned lorry blocked the carriageway between Junction 15 and 16.
The M11 was closed to traffic from Junction 14 at Coynes Cross to Junction 16 at Wicklow as a result.
Local diversions were in place and gardaí had asked motorists to take alternative routes and expect long delays in the area.
According to LiveDrive, there were delays of up to two hours.

The M11 southbound remains closed between J14 (Coynes Cross) and J16 (Wicklow). Traffic is advised to take the R772 into Ashford. Severe delays of 120 minutes from J13 (Newtownmountkennedy)

In a statement this evening, Wicklow County Council confirmed that the truck has now been removed.
“The clean up of the road is nearly completed and it’s anticipated that it will reopen fully within the next hour,” the council said.
