3. THERE was lots of good jobs news today. Spar has said it will create 1,000 new positions across 50 stores and SmartInvest plans to sink money into 30 technology companies with an aim to bring 450 jobs to the country.

Cork and Tipperary will also see 200 new positions from Solarwinds and Ribword.

4. BRITISH citizen Shrien Dewani has pleaded not guilty to murdering his new wife in Cape Town as his long-awaite trial eventually gets underway.
