A MAN IN his 30s is in a critical condition following an assault outside a nightclub in Waterford in the early hours of this morning.
Gardaí have arrested a man in his 20s this afternoon and he is currently being held at Dungarvan Garda Station.
The incident happened outside a nightclub on Davitts Quay, Dungarvan shortly after 2am. A technical examination of the scene has been carried out.
The man in his 30s sustained a head injury and was treated at the scene before being taken to University Hospital Waterford by ambulance.
He has since been transferred to University Hospital Cork.
