IN COURT

Man charged with the murder of Dublin woman Patricia O'Connor

Green told gardaí that he acted in self-defence.

A 32-YEAR-OLD MAN has been charged with the murder of 61-year-old Dublin woman Patricia O’Connor.

Kieran Green, with an address in Mountain View Park, Churchtown, was brought before Tallaght District Court this afternoon.

Giving evidence of the arrest, charge and caution, Detective Garda David Connolly said that Green had said “I acted in self defence” when charged with the murder.

Green, who was wearing jeans and a grey hoodie, said nothing during the brief hearing. He was granted legal aid by the court.

Patricia O’Connor was reported missing on 2 June. Her remains were found in a number of locations in the Wicklow Mountains earlier this week.

Green was remanded in custody at Cloverhill until next Thursday.
