Man charged with murder over Derry stabbing

A MAN HAS appeared in court charged with the fatal stabbing of 24-year-old Michael McLaughlin in Co Derry last weekend. Leon Johnston, also 24, from Ballydugennan Villas in Toomebridge, Co Antrim, was remanded in custody by the district judge at Magherafelt Magistrates Court. He is due to appear again by video link on 8 September.
