Man seriously injured in Galway road crash

The collision occurred at approximately 6.30am today in Fairyhill, Portumna.

GARDAÍ IN GALWAY are at the scene of a serious single vehicle collision in Fairyhill, Portumna which occurred earlier today.

The collision occurred at approximately 6.30am on the Nenagh to Loughrea road.

There were four male occupants, ages unknown, in the van at the time of the collision. One male received head injuries and was taken to Portiuncla Hospital in Ballinasloe where his injuries are described as serious. The other three were uninjured.

The road has been closed for a forensic collision examination.
