GARDA COMMISSIONER MARTIN Callinan says he is seeking legal advice over the proposed appearances of two garda whistleblowers at the Public Accounts Committee next week.

However, speaking today on RTE Radio One’s Morning Ireland, Independent TD Shane Ross said the whistleblowers have “every right to express a view, an opinion and give evidence in public”. He said he thought the PAC was a “democratic forum” where the penalty points controversy should be aired.
