Pro-Palestine protestors stage demonstrations at RTÉ and Newstalk offices

There was a similar protest in Belfast where protestors marched on the BBC offices in the city.

LAST UPDATE | 22 Apr

PRO-PALESTINIAN PROTESTORS demonstrated at RTÉ and Newstalk’s offices as part of a day of action.

The group, carrying Palestinian protest banners and flags, temporarily set up inside the building in Donnybrook,  Dublin 4 this morning, before going to Leinster House, and finally to Marconi House in Dublin 2.

Marconi House is home to Bauer Media, which includes Newstalk and Today FM.

A number of gardaí were followed the protesters, while others stayed at Leinster House after they’d left.

They occupied the reception of RTÉ. In one live stream shared by activist Tadgh Hickey, one protester there read out a prepared statement saying that the demonstrators were “the voice of the Palestinian people”. The statement criticised RTÉ and what they termed as “mainstream media” for their coverage of the Israeli military operation in Gaza.

Protestors, numbering about 20, were inside the reception area – one of the banners read “this is no longer a genocide, it is an extermination”.

The group left the RTÉ campus accompanied by gardaí shortly after 1.30pm.

They were still outside Marconi House at 2.45pm.
