A COURT IN the United Kingdom has sentenced a rapist of multiple victims to almost 30 years in prison.
He will be serving the sentences for raping a woman and a girl, aged 19 and 15 respectively.
Speaking about Beddall’s actions, Metropolitan Police detective inspector Neil John said:
Scott Beddall is an extremely dangerous and manipulative individual who preys on vulnerable victims. I am pleased that he has received this substantial prison sentence and will be unable to commit further offences.
He also said that he believes that there may be more women who were subject to sexual abuse by Beddall and urged them to come forward.
The first incident saw Beddall approach two women who were waiting for a taxi in the area of Shoreditch.
Both had been drinking at a nightclub and when their taxi arrived Beddall entered the car along with them uninvited, travelling to an address in the west of London.
When they arrived at the house he also entered uninvited and his victim allowed him to stay on the sofa. She subsequently woke up to him having sex wtih her.
DNA evidence was used to implicate him in this case.
Beddall’s second victim was a 15-year-old girl that he befriended in March of last year.
He was said to quickly form an “intimate relationship” with the girl and she subsequently became pregnant with his child.
While the victim initially failed to engage with police, DNA evidence once the child was born proved that Beddall was the father.
Beddall was tried on two separate occasions for these offences, and was sentenced to 27 years for all of the offences earlier today.
