REGINA DOHERTY, A Fine Gael TD, caused a bit of a stir on Facebook last night when she posted this rather odd status update:

Yep, that’s right the Meath East deputy was, according to her Facebook at least, revealing a rather unusual hobby.

When she’s bored she likes to wrap up in a sleeping bag, lather butter all over herself and slide around the kitchen floor pretending she’s a slug.

Surely some sort of Facebook hack, right? Nope, it was her.

This morning, Doherty posted another status update which revealed that it’s all part of a campaign to get people’s attention and raise awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness Month:

We’ve put a call into Doherty this morning to see if she does actually like to pretend she’s a slug when she’s bored, but we haven’t heard back at the time of publication.
