Man in his 70s dies in car crash at Liffey Valley Shopping Centre

The single vehicle collision occurred yesterday afternoon when the man’s vehicle struck a service gate.

A MAN IN his 70s was fatally injured yesterday when the car he was driving struck a service gate at the Liffey Valley Shopping Centre.

He was taken to ConnollyHospital in Blanchardstown where he was pronounced dead.

Gardaí at Ronanstown Garda Station are investigating the single vehicle fatal road traffic collision, in which the man was the only occupant.

The incident occurred at the shopping centre in Clondalkin at approximately 3.45pm yesterday afternoon.

The scene of the collision was sealed off to facilitate a Garda forensic collision examination.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to contact Ronanstown Garda Station on 01-666 7700, The Garda Confidential Line 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
