1. #PRAISE: German Chancellor Angela Merkel said today at the European People’s Party (EPP) congress that Ireland “has gone through difficult times but has braved those times”.

3. #STRIKE: Dublin Airport Authority and Ryanair are to launch a court action to stop SIPTU from going ahead with a strike at Dublin and Cork airports next week.

4. #DELAYED: A morning service from Longford to Dublin was delayed after a group of three men believed to have been under the influence of drugs, smashed windows and pulled the emergency cord on the train.

5. #PEN-ALTIES: Gardaí said the lack of pens is “not going to be an issue in the future” after a judge criticised Henry Street Garda station in Limerick for its lack of biros after a man signing on for bail was told to bring his own pen.
