FOOTAGE OF DONALD Trump’s hugely controversial recent speech, in which he called for a ban on Muslims entering America, has been used in a new propaganda video by a Somali Islamic extremist group.

It is the first time Trump has been used in such a recruitment video. Hillary Clinton last month claimed that footage of Trump had been used in such a video, however that claim was subsequently debunked.

The video itself has been released by the Somali group Al Shabaab, who themselves have connections with Al Qaeda.

The sprawling 51-minute video is easily found online, and includes extensive footage of Anwar al-Awlaki, an American member of an Al Qaeda branch who was killed in a drone strike in 2011.

In the recording al-Awlaki claims that America will soon be an unsafe place for Muslims, citing the country’s history, warning them that “there are ominous clouds gathering on your horizon”.

“Yesterday, America was a land of slavery, segregation, lynching and Ku Klux Klan, and tomorrow, it will be a land of religious discrimination and concentration camps,” al-Awlaki says in the footage.

The west will eventually turn against its Muslim citizens. You either leave or you fight.

Trump’s appearance in the video shows him saying:

So listen Donald  J Trump is calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States until our country’s representatives can figure out what is going on.

The speech was made on 7 December last.

The video has been released on behalf of Al Shabaab by the militant Islamist al-Kataib Media Foundation. It has been independently verified by SITE Monitoring, which studies jihadist propaganda.

Al Shabaab describes itself as waging jihad against “enemies of Islam”.  Its stated goal is the toppling of both the Ethiopian and Somali western-backed governments and the imposition of a strict version of sharia law.
