Further arrest made as part of investigation into 2010 murder of Lee Slattery in Limerick

There are currently five people in custody in relation to the investigation.

A THIRD PERSON has been arrested today as part of the investigation into the 2010 murder of Lee Slattery.

Slattery was aged 25 at the time of his death and his body was found at the Delmege House estate near Moyross, Limerick in May 2010.

This evening, gardaí said a man in his 30s was arrested this afternoon as part of the investigation. He is currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a garda station in the south of the country. 

It follows the arrest of a woman in her 30s and the re-arrest of a man in his 30s this afternoon. 

Yesterday, a man and a woman in their 30s were arrested.

A woman in her 50s was also arrested yesterday afternoon. She has since been released without charge, with file due to be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

There are currently five people in custody at garda stations in the Southern Region in relation to the investigation.

To date, 31 arrests have been made in connection with the investigation.

Sources have said Slattery was suspected to have been killed by a number of people.
