Woman dies after being hit by a car in Cavan

The road where the incident happened is closed and an investigation is underway.

A WOMAN IN her 60s has died after she was hit by a car in Arva, Co Cavan last night.

The woman was hit by a car on the R198 at Coronea, Arva just before 8pm last night.

She was taken to Cavan General Hospital with serious injuries and was later pronounced dead.

Gardaí say that the R198 at Coronea is closed pending a technical examination and traffic diversions are in place.
