1. #TOP-UPS: The former chief executive of the Central Remedial Clinic received a lump-sum payment of €200,000 from a charity fund when he stepped down last year. An Oireachtas committee also heard today that the CRC pays the Mater Hospital €660,000  to administer a pension fund that doesn’t exist.

2. #STATE OF THE NATION: Taoiseach Enda Kenny is to make a televised address to the country on Ireland’s exit from the EU/IMF bailout on Sunday night.

3. #TOP MAN: Time Magazine has named Pope Francis as its Person of the Year for 2013. The magazine said that the Pontiff is poised to transform a place that measures change by the century.

4.#AUSTRALIA: A shocking case of sex abuse, child neglect and intergenerational incest has emerged after 12 children were removed from squalid conditions on a farm in New South Wales.

5. #VIRAL VIDEO: Youtube has revealed the top ten trending videos in Ireland in 2013, based on the amount of people who viewed and shared each clip over the past year.
