BONO HAS HIS detractors in Ireland, but oh boy does he have his fans too.
It turns out a particularly big fan is none other than Hollywood nice guy George Clooney.
His latest film Tomorrowland is out this week, and at his London movie premiere he told TV3′s Xposé that he was hoping to visit soon.
Clooney told Peter O’Riordan that he is still planning the trip to Ireland that he had mentioned to Glenda Gilson on Xposé last year.
However, the bike trip he had planned with Bono is no longer on the cards after the U2 frontman’s accident in New York’s Central Park.
I would like to go [to Ireland]. They started it [media coverage] because I said to someone – you know, a reporter – that I’d love to come to Ireland, next thing I know I’m going to be there in a week. We’re going to try and get there this summer sometime.
We’ve [George and Bono] exchanged some emails and I think we’re going to stay off of the bicycle with Bono, apparently he’s very dangerous.
So, keep an eye out if you’re in the Killiney area this summer for the silver fox and his sunglasses-wearing rockstar pal.
