Man arrested as €800,000 worth of cannabis found in Kildare house

40kg of cannabis herb was found in Crossmorris.

A GARDA SEARCH of a house in Crossmorris in Co. Kildare yesterday uncovered cannabis herb valued at up to €800,000.

A man was arrested as about 40kg of the drug was discovered in the planned search by the Garda National Drugs Unit and local officers.

The 43-year-old male was arrested at the scene and is currently detained at Newbridge Garda Station.

The search was carried out as part of ongoing operations into the supply of drugs in the Kildare area.

A garda spokesperson said that, “these operations use advanced analytic and intelligence methods to disrupt criminals and dismantle their networks.”

“Drug seizures play a critical role in targeting the livelihood of criminals and reducing their ability to carry out illegal activities,” he added.
