AN INVESTIGATION HAS been launched into an incident in which a 78-year-old man died after being crushed by a tractor in Donegal.

In what has been treated as a workplace accident, the man was killed by the farming equipment in the Moville area yesterday afternoon.

Gardaí say there are no suspicious circumstances in the man’s death and are only assisting in the investigations being undertaken by the coroner.

The Health and Safety Authority is also looking into the man’s death.

The elderly man is believed to have been farming alone when the tragic incident took place.
