THE DEATH OF a man who fell down the stairs at a nightclub in Co Kildare over the weekend is not being treated as suspicious but a post mortem is due to be carried out later today.
A 46-year-old man, named as father-of-three Derek Phelan, was found at the bottom of the stairs at a nightclub in Newbridge at around 2.15am yesterday morning.
Gardaí said that there was nothing to indicate that there was anything suspicious about the man’s death but a post mortem is to be carried out later today to determine the exact cause of death.
The Irish Daily Star reports that the incident occurred at Swifts Bar and Nightclub in Newbridge while Phelan was out socialising.
