• It was the second day of Trump’s Ireland visit today, and while he confined himself to the golf links of his resort, he still ruffled a few feathers. In the morning on his way to the golf, he doubled down on his united Ireland comments, saying that he “loves” his remarks, and that it is “one of the naturals of all time” to “put” Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland together.
• The US president’s comments about a united Ireland made headlines across the world, with papers in the US and the UK analysing the geopolitical ramifications - were they off-the-cuff comments, or something more considered? 
• Trump also dismissed concern from chiefs of the artificial intelligence (AI) industry that AI development is moving too quickly, saying “whoever wins AI wins”. 
• While Shane Lowry took home the Irish Open trophy, Trump, in his prize-giving speech, announced that he would be removing the tariffs on Irish whiskey, an announcement that was “heartily welcome[d]” by the Irish Whiskey Assocation.
• Two women appeared in court in connection with an alleged public order offence at Trump’s golf links.
• The Taoiseach said he brought up the humanitarian situation in Gaza with Trump yesterday but he did not refer to it as a “genocide” during the private meeting with the US president. Speaking to reporters today, Martin defended his change in language.
• A 39-year-old man has been charged with kidnapping and hijacking, among other offences, following the hijacking of a bus in Omagh, Co Tyrone on Saturday afternoon.
• An 85-year-old woman, Maud Kerr, has died following a collision between two vehicles in Coleraine. A man in his 80s is in hospital.
• Two more arrests have been made in connection with alleged violent disorder in which a man died in Leopardstown last month, bringing the total number of arrests to eight.
• CMAT brought the Irish language to the SNL UK stage in her debut as a musical guest last night.
