FREDDIE THOMPSON, OFTEN known as “Fat Freddie”, a key associate of the Kinahan drug cartel, has been arrested in Dublin.

It’s believed that 35-year-old Thompson was arrested this morning while travelling from the north of the country by car.

It’s understood that Thompson is being questioned by gardaí in connection with the murder of David Douglas in July 2016.

Douglas (53), a father of one, was shot a number of times by a lone gunman as he stood in the doorway of his wife’s shop on Bridgefoot Street in Dublin’s south inner city.

The murder of Douglas is believed to be related to the ongoing gangland feud between the Hutch and Kinahan families.

He was the ninth fatality in the ongoing feud, a number that has since been added to by the mistaken-identity killing of holidaymaker Trevor O’Neill in Spain in August.
