A MAN SHOT in the chest in Limerick city on Sunday afternoon is in stable condition.
Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene at a residence on Hyde Avenue, Ballinacurra Weston, Limerick, after a firearm was discharged at approximately 4.30pm.
A 60-year-old man was sent to University Hospital Limerick to be treated for serious injuries. He is now in a stable condition, gardaí said.
The scene is currently preserved for technical examination.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Any person who was near the Hyde Road, Ballinacurra Weston area on the afternoon of Sunday 19 July 2026 between 3.45pm and 4.45pm and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) is asked to make this footage available to gardaí.
