Dangerous Driving

'Maybe they were making a trunk call': Gardaí discover passenger hidden in boot of car

The driver was issued with a fixed charge notice for driving without reasonable consideration.

GARDAÍ IN LIMERICK stopped a car transporting five passengers with one hidden in the boot yesterday afternoon.

The incident happened at around 12.30pm on the Dock Road in Limerick.

Once the car was pulled over, gardaí discovered five passengers in the car. One passenger was hidden in the boot of the car.

“Maybe they were making a trunk call,” gardaí said on Twitter.

The driver was issued with a fixed charge notice for driving without reasonable consideration.

Gardaí say there is also a question in relation to the insurance coverage for more than five people in a car. The matter will be investigated.

No arrests were made by gardaí.
