Two men arrested over 2012 murder of Gerard Eglington in Laois

The 27-year-old was shot in the Kilnacourt Woods housing estate.

TWO MEN HAVE been arrested as part of the investigation into the murder of Gerard Eglington.

The 27-year-old was shot dead in the Kilnacourt Woods Housing Estate on the morning of 24 September 2012.

Eglington, a convicted criminal, lived in the house with his partner and children. He had served time as a teenager after two gardaí died in a crash he was involved in.

Two men, aged 21 and 34, were arrested this morning and are being held at Portlaoise garda station.
