Clamp down on speeding and drink driving with one motorist caught at 168 kph

Gardaí have also arrested a number of drink drivers.

GARDAÍ HAVE BEEN out in force over the holidays clamping down on drink drivers and speeding motorists.

A man was arrested after getting caught driving almost 70 kilometres over the speed limit yesterday.

He was driving at 168 kph in a 100 zone in Sligo. Gardaí say the man will appear in court at a later date.

Meanwhile officers have also arrested a number of drink drivers.

Some drivers were more than three times over the legal limit.
