GARDAÍ SEIZED FIREARMS and improvised explosive devices during raids in Dundalk on Friday.
A woman in her 30s was arrested.
The detectives were accompanied by an armed support unit and members of the Army’s explosive ordnance disposal unit.
A garda spokesperson said the searches were part of an ongoing investigation into an organised crime group.
The explosives and firearms have been sent for further technical examination, they said.
“A woman, aged in her 30s, has been arrested in relation to this investigation,” the spokesperson said.
“She is currently detained under provisions of Section 30 at a garda station in the North East of the country.”
