JENNIFER LAWRENCE HAS been named the world’s highest paid actress by Forbes magazine, with earnings of $52 million (€46.1 million) pre-tax over 12 months.
Not too shabby for a 25-year-old.
It wasn’t a tight race either, second highest paid, Scarlett Johansson was $16.5 million behind, taking in $35.5 million last year.
Melissa McCarthy ranked third, taking in $23 million thanks to Spy and Tammy, and the launch of her new all-sizes clothing line.
Chinese actress Fan Bingbing was the only non-American to make the list. She ranks fourth, with earnings of $21 million.
Last year’s highest paid actress Sandra Bullock saw her earnings fall from $51 million to $8 million.
Forbes notes that the top 18 actresses earned a combined $281 million, $660 million less than the world’s highest paid actors, at $941 million.
The list is compiled by figures based on Nielsen data, Box Office Mojo and IMDB, interviews, and all figures are before management fees and taxes.
