Former minister Ivor Callely pleads guilty to false phone expense claim

The former Fianna Fáil TD and Senator has appeared before Dublin Circuit Criminal Court this morning.

FORMER JUNIOR MINISTER Ivor Callely has pleaded guilty to making a false mobile phone expense claim.

Callely appeared before Dublin Circuit Criminal Court this morning where he faced six counts of using invoices from three phone companies as false instruments at Leinster House.

Callely, who served as a junior minister between 2002 and 2005,  pleaded guilty to one count this morning before judge Mary Ellen Ring.

He was due to stand trial later this month. The 54-year-old, who is a former Fianna Fáil TD and Senator, will now be sentenced in July.
