IT WAS THE WONDERFUL decade that brought us Destiny’s Child, Super Mario, Discmans, scented markers, Echo Island, dial-up internet, Tamagotchis, inflatable furniture, Brad and Jen and of course, Titanic.
It was also the decade that brought us bucket hats, butterfly clips, bowl cuts (usually parted straight down the middle), tinted sunglasses, jelly shoes and an unnecessary amount of pink fluff – so a mixed bag in the fashion stakes, really.
But one thing’s for sure – the music was good. The 1990s were responsible for more than its fair share of bangers, and even if they weren’t strictly the most amazing songs ever written, they never fail to guide a crowd onto the dancefloor.
