Man in his 50s arrested over 21-year-old beaten to death in barn in 2007

A search of lands near Castleblayney, in Monaghan is also being carried out as part of the investigation.

A MAN IS his early 50s has been arrested by gardaí investigating the murder of Paul Quinn in Monaghan.

The 21-year-old was beaten to death at a barn in Tullycora, Castleblayney on 20 October 2007.

It’s widely claimed that former or current members of the IRA were involved in the attack.

The man arrested this morning is being held at Carrickmacross Garda station.

Gardai say a search of lands near Castleblayney is also being carried out as part of the investigation.
