Man dies in Roscommon road accident

The man in his mid 20s died in the early hours of this morning.

A MAN HAS died after a single car road accident outside Roscommon town in the early hours of this morning.

A man in his mid 20s died after his car crashed at around 3.15am on the Roscommon to Castlecoote Road – the R366 – around two-and-a-half miles outside Roscommon town.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and has been removed to the morgue at Roscommon Hospital, gardaí say.

The road is currently closed to facilitate a forensic examination and diversions are in place.
