Man (20s) seriously injured after shooting in Dublin

Gardaí said a firearm was discharged in Shancastle Close, Clondalkin, Dublin 22 on Wednesday 1 July.

A MAN IN his 20s has been seriously injured during an incident in Dublin in which shots were fired.

Gardaí have said a firearm was discharged in Shancastle Close, Clondalkin, on Wednesday night at around 8.50pm.

A man in his 20s was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A technical examination of the scene was conducted and a senior investigating officer has been appointed to lead the investigation.

An incident room has been established at Ronanstown garda station and gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this incident to contact them.

Anyone who was in the Greenfort and Shancastle areas of Clondalkin between 8.30pm and 9pm on 1 July and may have any information is asked to contact investigating gardaí.

Those with camera footage, including dash-cam, are also asked to make that footage available.

A garda spokesperson said that investigations are ongoing.

Also today, a man in his 40s was seriously injured in an assault at Parslickstown Drive, Mulhuddart, Dublin 15.

The assault took place just before 4pm on Friday and gardaí are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
