Do you think morning pre-flight pints should be banned?
Ryanair’s Michael O’Leary says that airport bars should stay in line with traditional alcohol licensing hours.
RYANAIR CHIEF MICHAEL O’Leary has said that alcohol should not be served in airport bars before morning flights, as part of efforts to tackle bad passenger behaviour.
O’Leary told the London Times that the airline has had to divert nearly one flight a day due to disruptive passengers.
Air-side bars in Ireland and the UK can serve alcohol outside normal licensing hours, something O’Leary says he disagrees with.
“It’s becoming a real challenge for all airlines,” O’Leary said.
“I fail to understand why anybody in airport bars is serving people at five or six o’clock in the morning. Who needs to be drinking beer at that time?”
The airline has previously called for a limit on the number of drinks served at airport bars, suggesting a two-drink cap per person.
