1. Politics

3. Russian disinformation

An international disinformation campaign that was uncovered in June after it targeted outlets including The Journal with pro-Kremlin content has now been directly linked to Russia.

4. Trump assassination attempt

Donald Trump has said that US President Joe Biden contacted him after his attempted shooting to ask about his wellbeing.

5. Arrested

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs – the rapper who has faced sex trafficking accusations and assault lawsuits – was arrested by federal agents in New York yesterday. 

6. Farmer support

Support for Fianna Fáil among farmers has hit a low of 14%, while over half want to see a new political party specifically for rural and farming communities.

7. Road policing

Gardaí have started using an unmarked Scania truck on specialist road policing operations across the country. 

8. Cannabinoid

Psychiatrists are calling for the government to ban the sale of HHC, warning that there has been a sharp increase in the number of cases of addictions related to the human-made substance and some cases of ‘severe psychosis’.
