1. A ceasefire between Iran and the United States is teetering after the two countries traded fire yesterday over the strategic Strait of Hormuz and the United Arab Emirates reported attacks for the first time since the truce was declared nearly a month ago.

2. Local fire authorities issued 150 fire safety notices in the last five years over concerns with “potentially dangerous” buildings, a new investigation can reveal. Several accommodation providers for refugees and asylum seekers are among the premises that received fire safety notices.

3. Economic growth is expected to continue across the island of Ireland this year but at a slower pace because of a fuel crisis triggered by the war in Iran.

4. Legislation to remove guardianship rights from convicted killers will be brought before Cabinet tomorrow for approval. The law is named after Valerie French, a mother of three who was killed by her husband James Kilroy.
