Lottery team head to Cork to find owner of €1 million winning ticket as deadline looms

The winner has until next Friday to claim their prize.

THE NATIONAL LOTTERY team are traveling to Cork today to help to find the owner of a €1 million ticket sold in December.

The winner of the €1 million National Lottery Christmas millionaire raffle has just over one week left to claim their prize. The deadline is Friday 31 March.

The lucky ticket was bought at the Topaz Service Station on Lower Tivoli Road in Cork on 21 December 2016.

The Christmas Millionaire winning ticket was number 179740.

A spokesperson for the National Lottery told TheJournal.ie that it is doing all it can to raise awareness of the missing ticket.

It could have been someone who travelled home to Cork over Christmas or maybe just a mislaid ticket.

They added that raising awareness has worked in the past. A Euromillions prize was claimed in Cork with just hours to go before the deadline hit last summer.
