• The counting is still underway but here’s a list of who’s been elected so far.
• Gerry ‘The Monk’ Hutch lost a nail-biter to Labour’s Marie Sherlock in Dublin Central.
• Fianna Fáil TD and Junior Minister for Disability Anne Rabbitte lost her seat in Galway East in the ninth count.
• Health Minister Stephen Donnelly was in a tight contest with his Dáil seat on the line in Wicklow. 
• Independent candidate Brian Stanley was elected in Laois on the eight count after the elimination of a Sinn Féin candidate – after leaving the party just last month.
• There were some high-profile figures who lost Dáil seats today. Here’s a list of who won’t be returning to Leinster House.
• Sinn Féin TD for Dublin Bay South Chris Andrews lost his seat in a shock result.
• Election polling company Ipsos Behaviour & Attitudes said a lower-than-expected turnout is a reason for errors in its exit poll.
• Green Party leader Roderic O’Gorman just about held onto his Dáil seat in Dublin West, the only member of his party elected today. 
• Paul Gogarty, the Lucan-based former TD best known for his “unparliamentary” outburst towards a Labour colleague in the wake of the financial crash, was re-elected to the Dáil after a 13 year gap.
• Aontú got a second TD elected, Paul Lawless, who will join party leader Peadar Tóibín in the Dáil.
• A teenager died in a single-vehicle crash in Co Donegal.
• Police in Northern Ireland launched an investigation after the sudden death of a woman in her 20s at a nightclub in Belfast in the early hours of this morning.

INTERNATIONAL

#SYRIA: Syrian rebels took control of the city of Aleppo as the UN warned of a “grave threat” to regional and international security.
