Have you gone for an outdoor swim yet this year?

If you’ve been waiting to take your first dip of 2026, this could be the weekend to do it.

AS THE SUMMER months approach, the weather forecast is showing a marked improvement for the weekend and into next week.

Tomorrow, the highest temperatures are expected to range from 13 to 16 degrees across the western half of the country and will rise to between 17 and 21 degrees in the east.

Sunday is due to be mostly dry with a mix of cloudy and sunny conditions. According to Met Éireann, temperatures are set to reach highs of between 14 and 18 degrees.

As conditions become more favourable, many may feel tempted to cool off with a dip in the sea.

Whether you’re a regular swimmer or not, this weekend could provide an opportunity for the first outdoor swim of the year – unless you’ve already been in the water regardless of the temperature.

With that in mind, we’re asking: have you gone for an outdoor swim yet this year?
