Poll: How many hours do you spend sitting down per day?

Long periods of lying down or sitting can have an impact on your health, says researchers.

RESEARCHERS AT THE University of Limerick have been granted funding to continue research into the effect long periods of lying down or sitting has on our heart health.

The research finds that even if you do exercise, if you sit for the rest of the day, it will still have health consequences, particularly on your heart.

School and workplaces

Their new research is going to track 100 males and females through adolescence to early adulthood to see what impact sitting around has from the time they leave school to when they enter into the workplace.

In today’s poll we would like to know how many hours do you spend sitting/lying (excluding sleep)?

Poll Results:

5-10 hours (2254)
Over 10 hours (1788)
0-5 hours (1121)
Over 15 hours (552)
